Shape Magazine Feature
One day, I opened my email and there was a note from a lifestyle
editor of the national monthly magazine, “Shape”. She asked if I
would be interested in becoming the life coach for their 2008
Weight Loss Diary article which runs in the monthly magazine.
Well, I read the email five or ten times and called my coach buddy
Stew, who said, “Gees Louise, run, don’t walk, and look up the editor
to see if she is the real deal, and then give her a call”. I did
just that, and low and behold, after a little Googling, discovered
that she is the real deal. I called her office in New York City and
she answered the phone (things were just clicking along). We had
a great chat. I said “YES” and she told me about the gig and what
would be involved. I shared some of my ideas with her, and in two
days time, she let me know I had the job.
Shape kicks off each year with this project. They locate a participant
who writes an article in each issue, sharing her story about how
her weight loss and lifestyle makeover is going. She is paired with
a team of three professionals, a nutritionist, fitness trainer and
life coach (Moi) who will support her in transforming her lifestyle
and fitness goals.
As you might imagine, I am jazzed. It is an honor to support Maureen
Healy in this endeavor, and coach her through the process of challenges
and wins, and everything in between.
Check out the magazine
when you are near a newsstand. I will be mentioned in the February
issue and from time to time throughout the year.
